Summary
The Bible opens with God at work. In the creation account God forms, orders and fills the world over six days and rests on the seventh, and this pattern shapes the Christian understanding of work. Because God worked, work itself is presented as good rather than as a punishment, and human beings made in God's image are expected to work too. This sub-strand looks at what that means for attitude, dignity and rest.
