Terms of service

These terms apply when you use SmartStudy, whether on this website or in the Android app. SmartStudy is operated by Last Mile Ventures Ltd, Nairobi, Kenya. By creating an account you accept them.

Your account

You must be 18 or over to create an account. You are responsible for what happens on it, including the learner profiles you add and keeping your sign-in details to yourself.

What SmartStudy provides

Notes, practice questions and mock papers written to the Kenyan syllabus. Some content is free; the rest requires a subscription.

We work to keep the material accurate and aligned to the syllabus, but it is study support, not a substitute for school. We do not guarantee any particular examination result, and official syllabus and assessment information always comes from KICD and KNEC.

Subscriptions

• A subscription covers one learner at the level that learner is set to, for the period bought.
• Prices are shown before you pay. Nothing renews automatically — when a subscription ends, access returns to the free material until you choose to renew.
• Access bought on the website works in the app, and the reverse, because it is the same account.

Payment

Payments are made by M-Pesa through Safaricom's Daraja service. We never see your M-Pesa PIN.

If money leaves your account but access does not open, contact pwangila@gmail.com with the M-Pesa confirmation message and we will put it right.

Refunds

If you were charged in error, charged twice, or paid for access that did not work, contact us within 14 days and we will refund it.

We do not otherwise refund a subscription once the content has been made available, since it is delivered immediately in full.

Referrals

Each account has a referral code. Where someone subscribes after joining with your code, commission is credited to your account and paid to the M-Pesa number you provide.

Codes may not be used on your own account or on accounts you control, and may not be promoted through spam or misleading claims. We may withhold commission where a referral appears not to be genuine.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• copy, republish, resell or distribute SmartStudy content, whether or not for payment;
• share your account so that others avoid paying;
• attempt to reach content or other users' data you have not paid for or are not entitled to;
• interfere with the service or the systems it runs on.

The notes, questions, papers and diagrams are our property. Use them for your own study.

Ending your account

You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.

Liability

SmartStudy is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss, and our total liability is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use SmartStudy means accepting the current version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
