Summary

Abraham's story, beginning in Genesis 11-12, is presented in Christian teaching as a model of faith -- trusting and acting on God's word even without seeing the full outcome in advance. God's promises to Abraham, repeated and expanded across several passages, are treated as foundational to the whole biblical narrative that follows.
