Summary

Soil is a limited resource that can be washed or blown away if left unprotected. Soil conservation methods — like strip cropping, grassed waterways, stone lines, trash lines, and soil bunds — work by slowing water down and holding soil in place, protecting the land's ability to grow food for the future.
