Summary

Theme 4.4 covered main characters, who drive the story. This topic turns to minor characters -- figures who appear briefly or occasionally but still shape the story through their relationships with others and with the main characters. A story populated only by its main characters would feel thin; minor characters fill in the social world the main characters actually move through.
