Summary
Reading for information and reading for meaning are two different jobs a reader can do with the same text. One extracts facts; the other works out what a word or a passage actually signifies when it is not stated outright. This topic covers both, plus the text features -- titles, subtitles -- that make finding information faster in the first place.
