Summary
Transport moves people and goods; communication moves information. Each mode suits particular goods and distances — road for flexibility, rail for bulk overland, water for cheap bulk over long distances, air for speed and perishables, pipeline for liquids. Trade is domestic, regional or international, and is measured by the balance of trade.
