Summary

Land reclamation is the process of making unproductive land productive; land rehabilitation is restoring land that has been degraded. Kenya reclaims land chiefly by irrigation, drainage of swamps, pest control and afforestation. Mwea grows rice on the Tana; the Netherlands' Zuider Zee project reclaimed land from the sea itself.
