Summary

Fishing is the catching of fish and other aquatic organisms. The great fishing grounds lie where shallow continental shelves, cool waters and converging currents create abundant plankton. Fishing is pelagic, demersal or freshwater, and methods range from traditional basket and harpoon to trawling and seining.
