Summary
The hydrological cycle is the continuous circulation of water between sea, air and land. A river erodes by hydraulic action, corrasion, attrition and solution; transports by traction, saltation, suspension and solution; and deposits when it loses energy. Its course has three stages — youthful, mature and old — each with characteristic features.
