Summary

Agriculture is the growing of crops and rearing of livestock. It is influenced by physical factors — climate, soil, relief — and by human, economic and political factors. Systems range from shifting cultivation through subsistence to plantation and mechanised commercial farming. Kenya's principal cash crops are tea, coffee, sugar cane and horticulture.
