Summary

Christian teaching does not condemn wealth itself. Abraham, Job and Lydia were all wealthy, and the Bible treats property, trade and profit as normal. What is condemned is the love of money, which Paul calls a root of all kinds of evil, and the injustice that often accompanies wealth. Alongside this runs a strong and repeated concern for the poor, expressed as a duty rather than as optional charity. The topic asks learners to hold both together: earn honestly, use resources responsibly, and take the needs of others seriously.
