Lesson objectives

By the end of this sub-strand, you should be able to:

• Identify forms of sexual abuse and how to avoid or overcome abuse
• Evaluate causes of teenage pregnancies today
• Examine the consequences of engaging in irresponsible sexual behaviour
• Discuss values and life skills needed to avoid irresponsible sexual behaviour
• Choose to live responsibly as guided by the word of God

Summary

This sub-strand covers two connected things: staying safe from sexual abuse, and making responsible choices as a young person grows up. Both are approached the same way -- clearly, factually, and with practical steps for protecting yourself and others.
