- Identify covenants in modern life and their importance
- Elaborate the covenant made by God to Abraham
- Explain the importance of circumcision to Abraham and his descendants
- Evaluate characteristics of ungodly covenants today
Summary
A covenant is a solemn, binding agreement between two parties. God's covenant with Abraham, described in Genesis 15 and 17, formalised the promises already made -- and included circumcision as a physical sign of that covenant. The chapter also equips learners to distinguish godly commitments from ungodly ones.
