This topic closes Strand 3.0 by giving the "non-metallic" half of 3.1's opening split the same depth 3.2 gave to metallic materials -- naming specific non-metallic materials (wood, stone, plastics, paper, rubber, cement, glass, ceramics), a synthetic-versus-natural category within them, their physical properties, and their uses.
