Summary

A poem does the same basic job as a story or an essay -- it communicates something -- but it does the job differently. This topic covers what makes a poem recognisably a poem rather than another genre, and what good recitation adds to a poem once you have identified one. The reading focus is poems on science and health topics, including sensitive subjects such as HIV and AIDS handled with care.
