Summary

Theme 2 introduced what makes a poem a poem. This topic goes one level deeper: how a poem is actually built -- broken into stanzas, and stanzas broken into lines -- and why that structure is not just decoration but part of how the poem communicates. The reading focus is short poems on personal hygiene, HIV and AIDS, and COVID-19, read with the same care those subjects deserve.
