Summary

A pronoun stands in for a noun, avoiding constant repetition of a name. Personal pronouns (I, you, he, she, it, we, they) refer to specific people or things and change form depending on whether they are the subject or the object of a sentence. Possessive pronouns (mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours, theirs) show ownership. This topic covers both, and the easily confused possessive adjectives (my, your, his, her) that look similar but do a different job.
