Summary

A conjunction joins words, phrases or clauses. This topic covers the three most common ones -- and, but, or -- each of which signals a different logical relationship between the things it joins: addition, contrast, and choice. Choosing the wrong one changes the logic of a sentence even when the surrounding words stay the same.
