Summary

Long before schools and textbooks, African communities passed on wisdom, skills, and values through the spoken word -- narratives, stories, songs, riddles, and proverbs. This is African traditional education. It shaped how children learned respect, honesty, cooperation, and other values needed for community life, and it still matters today.
