The Life of Jesus Christ · Parable of the Lost Sheep

Syllabus: CBC * Grade 5 * Christian Religious Education * Strand 3.0 The Life of Jesus Christ * Sub-strand 3.6 Parable of the Lost Sheep

Lesson objectives

By the end of this topic, you should be able to:

  • Narrate the parable of the lost sheep (Luke 15:1-7).
  • Outline five lessons learnt from the parable.
  • Reach out to the lost as taught by Jesus Christ.

Summary

When a shepherd loses one of his hundred sheep, he leaves the ninety-nine to search for it, and celebrates joyfully when he finds it. Jesus told this parable to show that God actively seeks out and rejoices over those who are lost and return to him, and invites us to reach out to others in the same spirit.
