Law of Persons
1. Natural vs artificial persons
A natural person is a human being, with legal rights and duties from birth. An artificial (legal) person is an entity the law treats as having its own legal personality, separate from the individuals behind it. A registered company is the classic example - it can own property, sue and be sued, and enter contracts in its own name, distinct from its shareholders or directors.
