Introduction to Communication
1. What is communication?
Communication is the process of exchanging information, ideas, or feelings between a sender and a receiver, resulting in shared understanding. It is not just sending a message - communication has only genuinely happened once the receiver understands it roughly as the sender intended.
2. Role of communication in an organisation
Coordinating activities across departments and teams. Supporting decision-making with the information decisions need. Building relationships, internally with staff and externally with clients, suppliers, and regulators. Motivating and directing employees. Managing the organisation's public image and stakeholder relationships.
