Summary
The Commonwealth is a voluntary association of independent states, mostly former British territories, co-operating on development, education, democracy and trade. The Non-Aligned Movement was founded in 1961 by states refusing to join either Cold War bloc, pressing for decolonisation, disarmament and economic justice. Kenya belongs to both.
