Summary
Map Work II applies the skills of Form 2 to describing an area from its map. Relief is read from contour spacing and pattern; drainage from the arrangement of streams, which forms recognisable patterns reflecting the underlying rock and slope. Gradient is vertical rise ÷ horizontal distance, and both must be in the same units.
