Summary
Field work is the study of geography outside the classroom, in the actual environment. Its three types are the field excursion, field study and field research. The procedure runs from choosing a topic through objectives and hypotheses to reconnaissance, the study itself, and follow-up. A hypothesis is a statement to be tested, not a conclusion.
