Syllabus tag: KCSE | Biology | Form 1 | Topic 2 Classification I

  • State the general characteristics of Kingdom Protoctista.

Summary

Monera contains the bacteria — the only prokaryotic organisms, whose genetic material lies free in the cytoplasm with no nuclear membrane. Protoctista contains single-celled organisms that do have a proper nucleus, such as Amoeba and Paramecium, together with the algae. Both kingdoms include organisms that are useful and organisms that cause disease.
