Summary

Plantae contains multicellular organisms with cellulose cell walls and chlorophyll, which make their own food by photosynthesis. The kingdom is divided into three divisions of increasing complexity: Bryophyta (mosses), Pteridophyta (ferns) and Spermatophyta (seed plants). The decisive advance across these is the ability to survive away from water.
